Common Name: None
This rust has an aecial (cluster cup) stage which forms masses of orange cylinders (to 1.5 mm high) with a white, toothed margin. On Muehlenbeckia. RARE.

It seemed a good idea to include at least one microfungus among the Fungimap target species. There are numerous indigenous microfungi on all sorts of native plants, and very little is known of their distribution. Microfungi are often specific to a particular host species or genus, but again, comprehensive surveys of host range have not been carried out for most species. Uromyces politus was chosen as a target species because it is relatively large and colourful for a microfungus - the tubes are orange and about 1mm long!. We have not received any records yet, and no photos are available, apart from the one in the reference below.
