A small greyish toadstool which is only found growing on other toadstools in Cool Temperate Rainforest. RARE.
|
- Pileus/Cap
13-27 mm diameter, convex to boadly convex; silvery grey or pale greysih brown; dry.
- Lamellae/Gills
Adnate, light brown, becoming dark brown.
- Stipe/stalk
26-35 mm long, 1.5-3 mm diameter, cylindrical, with silky grey fibrils on surface.
- Smell
Strongly farinaceous (mealy) to unpleasant.
- Spores
Spore print not known, probably white.
- Habitat
Only found in Cool Temperate Rainforest (with myrtle beech) in Victoria.
Always growing on old blackened fruit bodies of toadstools of Russulaceae.
- Comments
No other toadstools with this habit are known from Australia.
