Head up to 25 mm diameter, shallow cup to saucer- or sometimes saddle-shaped, the outer surface distinctly hairy, greyish brown.
Smooth, grey brown, darker or the same colour as the outer surface.
Up to 50mm long, 2-3.5 diameter, slender, cylindrical or terete, distinctly hairy on upper half, colour similar to cup outer surface.
Not distinctive
Spore print unknown, probably white.
On soil, almost always near streams. Distribution: Europe, Siberia, China, West Pakistan, North America, Australia.
