Amanita austroviridis is an agaric with green gills and a pale green cap. Under Allocasuarina in WA. See also A. chlorophylla. RARE. Literally: Southern green mushroom. (Amanita [Greek] - ancient name fror mushrooms; austro [] - south; viridis [] - green. Common Name: None

• Pileus/cap
  45-60mm diameter, pale olive green. Convex when young, becoming flatter with age, edges finally turning up; with flat patches of universal veil often present. Margin appendiculate (with fragments of powdery partial veil suspended from edge), but this quickly wears away.

• Lamellae/gills
  Deep olive green; adnexed, (narrowly joined to stem), sometimes free (not attached to stem); closely spaced; with short and long gills.

• Stipe/stem
  20-40mm wide x 11-17mm long, pale olive green, with a broad base which tapers down below the soil.

• Spores
  Spore print creamy white.

• Habitat
  In short coastal vegetation, associated with Oxylobium cuneatum, Allocasuarina fraseriana & Eucalyptus calophylla.
