Poronia ericii is restricted to herbivore dung, and is most commonly seen on wombat, kangaroo and rabbit droppings. In Europe,a similar species, P. punctata, is common on horse dung and is often illustrated with a stem. Field Guide to Australian Fungi B.A. Fuhrer Reprinted by permission.
