Distinctive pale violet, delicate, waxy-looking mushroom with a turgid stalk and a tendency for the cap to split radially. |

Small (to 30 mm), conical to plane, not viscid, pale lilac becoming tan.
Same colour as cap, whitish near the stem.
Up to 60mm long, similar to cap colour, waxy or turgid in appearance.

Spore print white.
On the ground in sand or leaf litter, amongst undergrowth in closed forest.
