Literally: sea-coloured skin-head from the south. (Derma [Gr.] - skin; kybe [Gr.] - head; auster [L.] - southern, i.e. Australasian; venetus [L.] - sea-coloured.) A medium-sized fungus with a satiny-green cap and yellow stem with distinctive rusty brown fibres half way along stem.

• Pileus/cap
  Up to 8cm diameter. Yellow to olive green to olive brown or dark blue-green, darker in centre. Convex then almost flat. Dry and smooth with silky sheen. Not viscid. Flesh white.
• Lamellae/gills
  Yellow-brown to rusty brown, turning darker. Adnate to slightly sinuate. Moderately close.
• Stipe/stem
  Up to 8cm tall. Rather stout, widening towards base and tapering upwards. Slightly curved at base. Dry, hollow, fibrillose. Yellow to yellow-ochre. Cortina (cobwebby veil covering gills in young specimens): remains of cortina leave rusty-brown fibrils on stipe.

  None
• Spores
  9.5-13 x 5.5-6.5 µm oval, punctate. Spore print rusty brown.
• Habitat
  On ground in eucalyptus forests.
